Darren Haas
Now a preeminent leader in large-scale computing, Darren started his career as a full-stack development engineer at Dejima (acquired by Sybase). Darren then began working in the AI department of the Stanford Research Institute, from which he co-founded Siri, which was acquired by Apple in 2010. While at Apple, Darren managed the Siri and Speech backends and formed a centralized platform group for all of Apple’s internet services. In 2016, Darren joined GE as their SVP of Engineering and later Amazon as an executive in enterprise technology and innovation. Then in 2021, Darren co-founded Voltron Data as their Head of Engineering; his new company seeks to accelerate enterprise data analytics by creating high-performance data access and in-memory computing tools. Darren has also done significant non-profit work, co-founding Change.org and The Flat Stanley Project.
